Marvin A. Fier, DDS - New Beauty

The Image Factor
"In social situations and business, how other people perceive you depends on the image you project," says cosmetic dentist Dr. Marvin Fier. "The smile is the most recognizable signal in the world." He should know. Dr. Fier has traveled and lectured extensively throughout his distinguished career in which he has been awarded Diplomate status by the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry and made a Fellow of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics. What’s more, he has studied hypnosis and deep relaxation techniques, which he shows to his patients to help them relax. He has also taught some valuable techniques and procedures to dentists from Asia to Latin America, and places in between.

“I enjoy imparting knowledge,” says Dr. Fier, who started his dental career doing dentistry in the Navy after receiving his DDS degree from New York University. An adjunct professor at many universities, he has the opportunity to exchange ideas with the doctors that come to study with him. But it is with his patients that his formidable skills in cosmetic dentistry are demonstrated.

“Understanding human behavior is essential to developing a good chair-side manner,” Dr. Fier says. “You have to be a psychologist as much as a dentist because you’re treating your patients as human beings first. One of my mentors taught me that, there is a human being attached to the teeth. He really was a master of understanding the psychology of people in terms of dental patient behavior.”

Dr. Fier is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry and his office is in the Pomona Professional Plaza at 972 Route 45 - Pomona, New York. He is a highly respected lecturer in the United States and internationally.  He presents continuing education for dentists at many dental schools and prestigious conferences in the US and throughout the world.  He is a contributing editor for Dentistry Today, the most widely circulated dental publication in North America, and he has appeared in the Cosmetic Dentist section of New Beauty magazine, a publication devoted to appearance-related procedures.  Dr. Fier has practiced dentistry in the New York metropolitan area for more than 30 years.
